As a hiring manager on Wall Street, with family memebers about to enter college. I tell them to focus on the “broader skills” of communications, leadership and management. Skills that may not be taught “directlY” in their business classes.
I have told them to participate in extra-curricular activities, where some of these skills may be developed. Also their is a firm located in NY (learntosucceed.biz) which has inexpensive materials to give students, and recent grads, some good advice.
